Do you feel fit in body and fit in mind? Wellbeing
'Do you feel fit in body and fit in mind?
When you look at the daily habits of successful entrepreneurs, it probably won’t take you by surprise that they have more habits in common than just the way they deal with business.
Be honest here: Would you consider yourself to be at your absolute peak?
Just look at The Rock. Sure he's charismatic and a strong actor, but how does he fly across the world to record back-to-back films with barely a moment to rest? It's because he's in incredible shape. The Rock gets the most out of his acting jobs because he obsesses over his health.
If you take a look at some of the other world’s most successful entrepreneurs Bill Gates, Richard Branson, Mark Zuckerberg you will see that they have something in common (not just huge bank balances!!) but they swear by keeping fit and healthy and taking regular exercise.
In fact, in a recent blog post Richard Branson said: “I seriously doubt that I would have been as successful in my career (and happy in my personal life) if I hadn’t always placed importance on my health and fitness.”
Your health is your greatest wealth and at Fitness in 15, we truly believe that a fit body and fit mind depend on one another.
It’s hardly a surprise that when we move less and aren’t mindful with what we eat, then more often than not we can gain a few pounds, our clothes feel a little snug and we can become lethargic and lack energy.
However, what we often forget is that exercise helps you stay mentally sharp and focussed as well. Studies show that when people exercise, it increases blood flow in the prefrontal cortex area of our brain, which improves cognition, especially memory function and stimulates chemical changes which heightens learning and improves mood.
The benefits of taking regular exercise aren’t just limited to entrepreneurs though, busy parents, solo business owners and employees can all find improvements to their physical and mental health by taking short regular bursts of exercise.
We know what you're going to say.... but I feel too tired to workout!
It may feel like a hard slog to get off the sofa or out of bed just a little bit earlier, but regular exercise is better for increasing your energy levels than that cup of coffee you have in the morning.
Every time you work out our bodies releases endorphins and serotonin which are known as "happiness hormones."
Have you ever completed a workout and felt “amazing” well it’s these hormones rushing through your body that are responsible for that feeling.
But wait… what's even better than all that? Turns out those happy chemicals aren’t just great at giving us more pep in our step; they also help boost creativity too!! So once workouts end you'll be primed to tackle your daily tasks.
Running a business or being a busy parent is hard work! Well taking exercise helps with your mindset and mental health.
Whether you are a business owner, employee or a stay at home parent the day to day stresses of life can get to even the strongest of people.
We have situations and stresses chucked at us daily. So what if prioritising a short workout could help you tackle your day better?
Exercise can actually help detach you from those worries so take a little time to focus on yourself and put some energy into creating the best possible version of you.
